Łucja Biel 

Łucja Biel is an Associate Professor of Linguistics and Translation Studies and Head of EUMultiLingua research group in the Institute of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw, Poland. She is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Specialised Translation and secretary of Council of Editors of Translation and Interpreting Studies for Open Science. Daniel Dejica

Daniel Dejica, PhD, habil., Professor in the Department of Communication and Foreign Languages and dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Politehnica University Timișoara. PhD supervisor, affiliated to the Doctoral School of Humanities, West University of Timișoara. Director of the Center for Advanced Translation Studies within Politehnica University Timișoara. His didactic and research interests include translation, discourse analysis, intercultural and interlinguistic communication. He was part of the Doctoral Studies Committee of the European Society for Translation Studies (2009-2018). He coordinates the Translation Studies series within the Politehnica Publishing House, the Professional Communication and Translation Studies international conference, and is part of the editorial or scientific boards of numerous scientific journals. Together with Muguraș Constantinescu and Titela Vîlceanu, he coordinates A History of Translations in Romanian, a series of volumes published by the Publishing House of the Romanian Academy.

Dan Mărășescu

Dan Mărășescu began his career teaching at the Modern Applied Languages Department of the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj. At the same time, as a freelance translator, he moved from the local market to the global market. In 2006, he became translator for the Council of the European Union and from 2017 he manages the Romanian Translation Unit within the same institution.

Renata Georgescu

Renata GEORGESCU, Associate Professor, Ph. D., has been the head of the Applied Modern Languages Department since November 2017 and member of this Department since its creation. She teaches fundamental disciplines at Bachelor and Master's level: translations (specialized, as part of the European Master's Degree in Translation and Terminology), conference interpreting (consecutive with and without note-taking - Bachelor's level and simultaneous, as part of the European Master's Degree in Conference Interpreting). Her didactic and research preoccupations, concretized in articles published in Romanian and foreign specialized journals, concern the fields of translation and conference interpreting, respectively the Romanian literary exile. Since 2002, she has been an accredited freelance interpreter at the European institutions, with Romanian and French (return) as working languages. She has participated, as an expert speaker, in several top-up trainings, organized by the European Institutions, as well as in accreditation tests for Romanian interpreters (functionaries).

Teodora Popescu 

Teodora Popescu, Doctor of Education (2004), teaches English Semantics, Translation Studies and Intercultural Business Communication. She is the author of English-Romanian dictionary of business terminology (2017), The Business English language curriculum (2017) and co-author of Dictionary of business collocations. With Romanian translation and practice section (2009); Mic dicţionar englez-german-francez-italian-român de termeni economici, juridici şi politici (2006); She has also (co)-authored 90 articles in the field of ELT methodology, curriculum studies, CALL, lexical semantics and intercultural business communication. Teodora Popescu is editor-in-chief of The Journal of Linguistic and Intercultural Education - JoLIE, 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia, Romania. She has co-chaired conferences in Linguistic and Intercultural Education and Internationalisation of Higher Education.

Adriana Neagu

Adriana NEAGU, MA, MPhil, is Associate Professor of Anglo-American Studies at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Department of Applied Modern Languages. She is the author of Continental Perceptions of Englishness, 'Foreigness and the Global Turn' (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017), Sublimating the Postmodern Discourse: toward a Post-Postmodern Fiction in the Writings of Paul Auster and Peter Ackroyd (Lucian Blaga University Press, 2001), In the Future Perfect: the Rise and Fall of Postmodernism (Lucian Blaga University Press, 2001), and of numerous critical and cultural theory articles. Dr Neagu has been the recipient of several pre- and postdoctoral research awards. Previous academic affiliations include an Andrew W. Mellon postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, and visiting positions at Oxford.

Eugenia Mircea

Talent Acquisition Manager since 2018 at Welocalize, a translation and localization American company. In this role Eugenia Mircea is responsible for the coordination of various strategies for human resource activities such as - recruitment and people development, internship programs, compensation and benefits and employer branding for Welocalize offices in Europe (Romania, Spain, Italy, UK, Ireland, Germany, and Greece). Her professional interest gravitates around organizational and people development, performance management and strategic partnership between academic and business environments.

She received her Ph.D degree in Philosophy from Babeș-Bolyai University in 2013. In the same year, Eugenia Mircea completed a research stage at Carlos III University (Universidad Carlos III), in Madrid. She holds a BA in Philosophy and a MA in Philosophy, Culture and Communication, Faculty of History and Philosophy, Babeș-Bolyai University.

Ciprian Iovu

Ciprian Iovu is located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and has been fully involved in the translation industry since 2018. He is a graduate of the European Master's in Translation and Terminology, 'Babeș-Bolyai' University of Cluj-Napoca. After graduating, he has been a full-time translation project manager and a part-time translator until the end of 2022, when he became a full-time freelance translator. During his years as a project manager, he worked on various auxiliary projects, such as developing a language quality assurance system and machine translation workflow, with focus on integrating them with CAT tools, while also dedicating his time to train junior project managers. As a freelance translator, Ciprian Iovu provides a various range of services from specialized translations in the fields of law and business to consultancy services on translation and terminology project management and Desktop publishing for translation purposes, while also working towards becoming a certified CAT tool trainer. He constantly pays attention to the trends in the translation industry and always tries to stay informed on the industry's latest standards and technologies, which he applies in his daily work.

Mihaela Pîrvuleț

Mihaela Pîrvuleț is a graduate of the Pedagogical College "Constantin Brătescu" in Constanta and of the Faculty of Letters - "Ovidius" University in Constanta, class of 2001. She began her professional career as a teacher of Romanian and English, but also worked as a translator authorized by the Ministry of Justice from 2001 to 2005. From 2005 to 2008, she lived in Toronto, Canada. She attended the courses of a Master's Degree in Translation Studies at Glendon College, York University in Toronto. During her Master studies, she worked as a freelance community interpreter, proofreader and translator in Toronto, Canada. From 2008 to 2022, she worked a translator in the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission, in the Romanian Language Department. From 2022 to the present day, she is working as a terminologist for the same department.

Diana Zelter

Lecturer Diana Christine, PhD. She is the Head of the Department of Modern Languages and Business Communication within the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her research and teaching areas interests include: Business communication, Intercultural communication, ESP (English for Specific Purposes – Business English) and management. She holds a PhD in Management and Organizational Communication and has published numerous articles in international journals besides participating in several international conferences.

Maria-Zoica Eugenia Balaban

Lecturer Maria-Zoica Eugenia Balaban PhD. She is a member of the Department of Modern Languages and Business Communication within the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her research interests include: (applied) linguistics, literature, business communication, intercultural communication, ESP (English for Specific Purposes – Business English) and RFL (Romanian as a Foreign Language). Adina Ponta

Adina Ponta currently serves as advisor to the Committee on Information Technology and Communications in the Romanian Parliament. She is a teaching lecturer at the Babes-Bolyai University in Romania and a postdoctoral researcher at the Law School's Center for Business Law & Information Technology. 

She was the 2020 Detlev F. Vagts International Law Fellow at the American Society of International Law. Prior to that, she spent four years in the legal offices of two NATO headquarters, where she advised on the lawful conduct of armed forces during conflict and peacetime military operations. Her professional experience includes assignments in the German Parliament, United Nations, embassies, and academia. She has an LL.M. in international law and a Ph.D. in business law.

Andreea-Maria Sărmașiu

Andreea-Maria Sărmașiu, Ph. D., Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Applied Modern Languages, Faculty of Letters, Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. She teaches practical courses and seminars at Bachelor's level: translation techniques, written and oral translation, discourse analysis, phonetics and grammar. Her didactic and research interests include legal translation, teaching and learning languages for specific purposes in the digital era, discourse analysis and applied linguistics. Actively engaged in teaching French and English, she is the author of two specialized books: LIMBA FRANCEZĂ - Culegere de teste grilă pentru admiterea în învățământul superior, Academia de Poliție și Şcolile de Poliție ... și pentru exersarea limbii franceze (2018) și LIMBA ENGLEZĂ - Culegere de teste grilă pentru admiterea în învățământul superior, Academia de Poliție și Şcolile de Poliție (2020). Daniela Badea

Translator/Outreach Officer, Directorate General for Translation Antenna, European Commission Representation in Romania

Daniela Badea has started her career in a consulting company, as a translator, interpreter and liaison officer. Since 2007 she has been working in the Directorate General for Translation of the European Commission, accumulating an extensive experience as a translator, as well as in other associated areas. As of March 2023, she is the representative in Romania of the Directorate General for Translation of the European Commission. Her mandate consists in promoting multilingualism, the profession of translator and, in general, the linguistic policies of the EU.
